This video broke my heart. i'm an only child so i never knew this is what it felt like to have a sibbling. I gave in to tears i feel horible i don't want my daughter to feel that im changing her for someone else. If my daughter is gonna feel that way i rather not have a another child.

I agree the video was for humor and to give you an idea of a situation you will have to prepare for. I am #2 of 4 kids and I couldn't not imagine NOT having them around to play with. I don't ever remember feeling this way about any of them but I do remember some jealousy from time to time but nothing life altering. Siblings are life altering they give you so many good and bad memories and tons of stuff to laugh about when you are older and they help shape you into who you grow up to be. If you are considering another child I say go for it then your daughter will have someone close long after you are gone!

Please don't read too much into this video! Having more than one child is such a blessing - both for the parents and for the siblings!! My boys absolutely love each other, are great playmates, and are almost "lost" when the other is not around. If you want it, share the blessing of another child with your daughter!

We had a daughter in 1990 and were told we would never have another child due to the fact that at the time of our daughters birth I was told I had CANCER after a year of fighting for my life all was well. Fast forward 17 years now I'm 42 years old and missed a couple of periods so to the doc I go to see if the cancers back or was this menopause the doctor turned to me and said congratulation your pregnant! WOW after all these years of being a only child I had to tell my 17 year old daughter she was going to be a sister, and my beautiful baby girl was born 2007 so the moral of this story is NEVER SAY NEVER.

we had our first daughter in 1994, and after trying for years we decided that 1 child was just fine. In 2007 we had our miracle baby boy ( premature 2 months, almost lost both of us) and even on birth control ( didn't want to end up preg. too soon after- scarry) we got preg. with our 2nd daughter in 2008. so for not trying any more we now have 2 feburary babys not quite a year a part!! I guess never say never!! they're a blessing!

With my girls I let them touch my bell when ever the baby moved & I talked about it constantly telling them in a little while they were going to have another sissy,I told them how they had to be my big helpers & when she got here they loved her, they were a little jealous, the younger one any way & she always wanted to be sitting on me when the baby was around,I just had to learn how to pay equal attention,I let them help me hold the bottle,I let them pat her butt & brush her hair, throw diapers away & they would sing & "shush" her when she cried, they handled it great,& they're all 1yr apart from 1 another so it was a suprise to see them all interact so well, they're very mindful of each other now,b.c I shushed them weh nthe baby would sleep, they're quiet when anyones sleeping, when they eat they offer the baby & bring me diapers for each of them,I love my girls! & they LOVE each other,I got lucky. That video just makes me laugh. I never thought of it that way when we had our second child, but the video pretty much sums it up.

I was six years old. I walked past my parents' bedroom and heard a baby crying. "What's that?" I asked. "your new baby brother" was the reply. That was the first I knew about it. How times have changed.

I was the oldest child, and I can attest to this is exactly how I felt.
