We are so blessed to have a very loving 'little mommy' for our oldest child. She was 7 when our son was born. She was a little unsure about it at first when we told her she was going to have a new sibling, but she went to nearly all my ultrasound appointments and was completely fascinated with the baby growing in my belly. One of her favorite things was to snuggle up close to me and put her hand on my belly, just waiting for him to kick her. I also told her how mean I was to my baby brother and how much I regret it now and that I hoped she would lover her brother and be nice to him. From the first day, she has been a little mommy....she changes diapers and gives him baths, feeds him and loves him. I don't know what I'd do without her because he is a HANDFUL!! I love the way she loves on him and looks out for him! I love to watch her learning how to mother and I know some day she'll make a great mommy for my grandbabies!

I thought the video was completely hilarious.....but not how my kids acted when they had siblings my oldest is 5 and her lil sister is 2, we have 2 boys one is 1 and a half and my youngest is 4 mths, and i have to say the hardest transitions was with my oldest she hated her sister the first month that she was home and it was just becuase she was mommies only princess and when her sister was born she realized she might have competition. Even after all the preparing we did haveing her help with everything while i was preganant and showing her all the great things she could do as a big sister, she still wasnt havin it lol eventually she realized that i wasn't showing her any bit of difference as far as attention goes and that she was still mommies princess, after that all she wanted to do was help, now of course all mykids are very close together, but with each one i see them get closer and closer the girls love their brothers, but stick up for each other no matter what!

Hysterical video! When our 2nd boy was born we made sure he arrived with present (a shiny new train) for his 3 yo big brother. That left quite a good first impression. We also prepared him in advance letting him know that he had some big new jobs to do at home. He seemed to relish the new found responsibility and we haven't seen a hint of jealousy so far. They're 3 and 6 now.

Oh, yes, this totally nailed an oldest kids point of view. I felt that way when my brother was born, but not mine son, he was supportive and loving and still is at times, when he was not to busy being a typical 5 year old. He was the one that would paint my toenails b/c I couldn't reach them and rubbed my feet with lotion every night. I involved him in everything, down to picking out clothes for the baby. He went to all my ultrasounds, and I made sure to keep him a part of every detail. I took the whole time I was pregnant to explain that he was the man of the house and he needed to be strong for all of us. I think that all my hard work and months of prep helped him as much as it helped me.... I wish my parents would have done the same. Like I said he still has his moments but he is still a wonderful big brother that loves his little brother very much. Being a single mom of 2 boys is hard and complicated at times, but Karson (my oldest) does his best to be 'the man of the house

I printed pictures of my daughter and 1 picture of the pregnancy test mixed in with them. My mother opened the pack of pics at home late at night and was wondering for a second why my daughter took a picture of her toothbrush. After a minute she realized what it was and what it meant and started screaming. My dad came running in to see what was going on.

When I was growing up everyone in my neighborhood had more than one kid. I am the oldest of 4 and I don't ever remember feeling this way about any of my brothers. My mom told me I couldn't stop hugging on my first brother (2 years apart from me) and the other two that followed were just as welcomed.

My thing is about luvs is that my one year old wears them and the diapers are not holding up their end of the b argin so me spending so much money on these diapers has cost a lot for my family, Our diapers here in Sac are very high and luvs are the cheapest. I now have to switch to pampers or huggies because they dont leak as much.

I came across this thread because I googled "luv's diapers not as good as they used to be" to see if anyone else has noticed a difference in the quality of Luvs. I have three kids. I exclusively used luvs on my older two and NEVER had a problem with leaking. I worked at home and sometimes lost track of time and didn't get them changed as frequently as they should be and NEVER had a leak. Now with my third child I am not seeing the same quality. I am now a dedicated stay at home mom and she gets changed frequently. They do not seem to be as absorbent and the outer lining seems to not be as "waterproof". It's as if they changed the way they make them. I have been a dedicated Luv's user but I am having to change sheets every morning and change clothing atleast once a day. Something is definitely different about them. Now I am going to have to try different brands. Huggies are soooo expensive. Hope to find something cheap yet reliable. Very dissappointed. :(

I am suprised to hear this too!! I got tons of huggies at my baby shower and got so upset after changing my sons clothes and entire bed 4 times in one night and I went to the store at 4am and got luvs and they worked great!!! I think diapers are like jeans for adults they have to be the right fit, maybe you could try going up or down a size bc any diaper will leak if it isn't snug against the skin and a good fit. Before you spend a bunch of money try it you might save a lot in the long run!

Hmm! Im surprised to hear this about Luvs diapers. My husband and I have gone through some monetary hardships and used to use huggies ALL the time before this. After chaning to Luvs we have never gone back to the other expensive brands. We absolutely LOVE luvs. They dont leak for us at all. I did find that with huggies my son would wake up with wet clothes almost every morning. Maybe you can try changing to a bigger size? I would hate to see someone spend more on diapers when these work so well. Oh and I will advise with huggies the smell of a dirty diaper is not covered at all. Can be a little embarassing at times. Good luck!
