Topic: Alone or with Parents Where does your baby get the best night’s sleep? Response: Sleep with Parents Mom 1: We had her in a little Pack ‘N Play, in our room, for a long time. Mom 2: All of our kids have slept with us. Mom 3: She sleeps with me still sometimes. Mom 1: I couldn’t let go. I had to be able to see her every time I woke up. Mom 4: It creates security. Mom 5: I think it just allows for a greater bond… between, not only myself and my daughter, but also for my husband. Mom 6: I had someone say to me, “oh your child is going to have all sorts of psychological problems… his relationship with women… blah, blah, blah”. Well, first of all, research doesn’t show any of that. Mom 4: After having 24-hour womb service for nine months, you don’t want to stick ‘em in a cold, dark room down the hall. How’s a baby going to figure out who they’re attached to? Mom 2: We slept a lot better when they were with us. Mom 3: As a mom, you need rest, so if they need to sleep with you, that’s how it is. |
